My first day with MacBook summed up in one sentence: Amazing piece of advanced technology but has a deep learning curve than any piece of tech I’ve ever used in my life.
Me to a random imaginary windows user: if Linux feels hard for you to use, try using macOS you’ll immediately love Linux.
@fbinin yes it’s hard to escape tracking when I’m on a proprietary system but I can limit it to some extent by using free software stuff. Windows however has a really aggressive tracking policy and with the OS becoming crappy and unusable I had to make the switch
@fbinin I’ve been using apple stuff for like 8 years now. All of my android and windows devices had severe hardware issues within just one year. My iPhone 5s from 2017 outlasted every device I had in the past. I mostly look at longetivity of a device when I buy something. Apple usually has the longest from my experience with also decent software support. That said I still windows + linux on my thinkpad
I also installed a crap ton of free software on my Mac ranging from homebrew to Inkscape. Contrary to the popular belief you can actually do a lot of stuff on Mac. You cannot tinker with the internals but you can still install free software on it. The lack of tinkering is a plus point for me because Linux gives you too many options to rice your DE and that honestly wasted a lot of my time. I still use Linux on my old thinkpad btw. It’s never leaving my life
Just got my MacBook Air M4 and it’s honestly a decent purchase. With this I’m entirely out away from Microslop’s ecosystem. Fuck them.
@fbinin trademark is a better fit for such thing but i heard that any IP stuff in India takes months or even years. I myself need to apply for a copyright for my book and seems like its such a huge and lengthy process
We would appreciate if you don’t use a LLM/AI to write your CFP submission. Please just tell us about your work in your own words. Proof reading and spell checks are fine.
@thej it’s correct. You just described vegetarians. What you might be looking for is the word called “vegan”. As far as the basic vegetarian definition goes, it’s just exclusion of meat in the diet. Not eating animal products is more of a vegan thing.

@werdahias currently learning German A1 and the only thing I could decipher from this is that you’re talking something about work :)
@werdahias I never saw actual snow in my life :(
@werdahias cycling is always worth it. It’s a fun time honestly. Too bad my country’s roads are too bad for cycling.
@kishy in other news I somehow managed to learn to use Inkscape for Kanpur posters without any guide. It’s honestly a lot better than Canva.
@billchenchina @disaster2life we’ve had ikea in a nearby city for like 8 years now and people still go to it everyday lol. I’ve heard of a lot of things about the food there but my friend and his partner recently went there and he said that the food was really bad the last time they went there
@billchenchina @disaster2life looks like I need to visit it someday but IKEA here is crowded at any given time. Not to mention the absurd traffic during evenings
@billchenchina I’ve never been to that IKEA in that city near me but I’ve heard of people going there to have engagements or even have their dinner there. What’s so special about it?
@mos_8502 @mos_8502 @mos_8502 the other day my friend told me about an electronic software. I noticed it’s not in debian and wanted to file a RFP for it but then it turns out that they never published a release for it. They said they instead want users to use their docker image while they push commits everyday to the repo. Let’s say that the software will never be packaged into any distro. Some people should have a formal class in software engineering
