tiny-dfr (and dependencies) now available in #debian ticking off having another one from the #asahi stack of tools offered from the official Debian archive.

I am proud to annouce that the Gstreamer GTK4 plugin is now available in #Debian. This will allow to directly offload the load of video decoding to hardward via dmabuf, thus greatly reducing CPU load.

Suit case successfully transported with a Nextbike. Was a bit scary since it was really heavy and even slipped once, but it went well.

@braid which part ?

@IchMeine @jon maybe state-owned DB got a bit to comfy, yeah. But privatization of infrastructure is never a good idea, ever. Critical infrastructure like railway and water must not make profit in the first place imo. Sure it needs constant investments, but all people profit from it, too. Yet another thing the Kohl administration messed up

Hallo #Debian

ich möchte gerne eine lokale Debian User Group (DUG) für das #RheinMain Gebiet starten.

Ich such noch Menschen, die mich dabei unterstützen wollen. Mehr Infos:

@jon I'm really angry at times when I think how the rail system was before DB got privatized. Overall it's good, but not investing anything relevant in the system for the last 16 years did not help.
I really hope it gets better.
Brenner-Basistunnel is still not even in the planning phase, either.

I'm glad to annouce Loupe 46.2 and snapshot 46.3 are now available in unstable.
This was blocked by a massive update of crates I worked on the past two months. #Rust #Debian #GNOME

Kitsune Tails is OUT NOW!! Run, jump, and dash across a land inspired by Japanese mythology and untangle the love triangle between three young women on a journey of self discovery. Explore the complicated relationships between kitsune and humans through classic platforming action.

get it now on steam https://store.steampowered.com/app/1325260 or itch https://eniko.itch.io/kitsunetails

we're a small underfunded team with a majority queer developers, and while we're punching way above our weight class we need the support of our community if this game is going to be a success. please boost this post, and if you can afford it buy it on steam and leave a positive review on the first day (the text doesn't matter, only the thumbs up, so "i like gay fops" is totally valid as a review)

i also want to prove fedi is powerful enough to make an indie game succeed, so even if you're not personally that into the game, please boost this post? 🙏

@grillchen TIL. Ist ja sowieso wild dass es im Schengenraum überhaupt Grenzkontrollen gibt

@Exilsarahl o.O (Spektrumanalyzer)

Gibt nichts besseres als wenn der ICE durch fragwürdige #Grenzkontrollen ( die sicher keine Bias haben) wieder mal um 20 min verspätet.

@josch thanks, will do tomorrow on the train

@josch @jacqueline@chaos.socialaybe we should discuss if we want to keep it in Debian. Tbh I filed the RFP for hyprland but that was way back before I learned how bigoted upstream is. Such behavior has no place in Debian, full stop. Shipping a piece of software from a dev endorsing it makes me uncomfortable to say the least.

@jon shitty service either way, this lets a lot to be desired

@jon average DB experience be like

So schraubenkiste, a font which allows for easy labeling and sorting of screws, is available in #Debian now.
Upstream homepage (German though):
https://www.peter-wiegel.de/Schraubenkiste.html
It is really nice, just typing TX will give you a torx screwhead symbol you can print out on a label then.
