Seems like I did a very good thing by ditching GitHub. GitHub is now under an AI team under Microsoft and no longer a separate entity. Would also recommend others to ditch GitHub if you care about your work getting scraped by useless LLMs

@whitequark @c0dec0dec0de @tef still possible and pretty much the only reason it's kept around

Holy hell, the new #Halestorm album is such a banger. Especially "Like A Woman Can". Such raw energy; really makes we want to see them live again.

@gordonmessmer @decathorpe bought some equip ones recently since my Starlabs one broke; so far smooth sailing.

Cake has landed, now I just need to dig up some multiplugs and wait for the ISOs to build and crowd to show up to help test! Happy Trixie day everyone! #debian

tfw the kernel module you were supposed to be porting at $work is now already in drivers/staging. Guess the only remaining issue is to package the userspace tools.

The slides of my lintian-ng presentation are available in the #Debconf25 shared repository: https://salsa.debian.org/debconf-team/public/share/debconf25/-/blob/910572409d4270759df3f714d92f3be0f82b68eb/slides/196-lintian-ng.pdf

And to hack around and contribute, do not hesitate to have a look at the git repository too! https://salsa.debian.org/gagath/lintian-ng

Urgent help for OpenPrinting needed!

As many here know, I am co-founder and lead of OpenPrinting since 2001, known as the print guru for Linux and free software by many. I also got one of the 8 fellows of the Linux Foundation for this.

Up to now I was working at Canonical, hired back in 2006 just to run OpenPrinting and also to maintain printing-related Ubuntu packages.

@thomasfuchs For me: male-to-male US outlet plugs

tfw you read your profs book to study and it mentions "entartete"/degenerate semiconductors o.O

Repost if you can hear this image blaring

I present: tree-sitter-asm support for nvim 0.11, soonâ„¢ in Debian
A screenshot of checkhealth treesitter in nvim 0.11 showing various parsers being enabled, such as ASM, c and lua.

Hot take: If a manpage does not include at least one example on how to use the program it's garbage.

I should really stop reading the news. Merz honestly thanks Israel for attatcking Iran, stating that they are doing the shitty work. What the actual fuck.

Use Signal. We promise, no AI clutter, and no surveillance ads, whatever the rest of the industry does. <3

Forced Consent & Consent Bypass

16 June 2025
Meta announced today that it also wants to introduce ads on WhatsApp, which will be based on personal data from Facebook and Instagram. This further integrates WhatsApp into other Meta services - an originally independent app, which initially was available for just $1 per year without ads or data usage. This also means that Meta is consolidating its social networking monopoly. EU law was actually supposed to prevent this."

yeah it's coming along
A pdf detailing the electrical characteristics of the IN-14 nixie tube; still WIP.

Now OCR'ing the original soviet data sheet to get values and measurements since I don't trust the data I found.
