@navi @novenary @mntmn yes please, can also do a layout / circuit review if you like. Which chip could do PD/DP alt mode?

@mntmn @novenary @navi yeah, I found that also confusing, but according to VESA, the sink is what receives the image

@mntmn @novenary @navi from the dock side, a sink (to the monitor)

@mntmn @novenary @navi thanks. my plan would be USB-C in (PD), USB-A 3.0 out, DP out (sink), and USB-C out with all those.

@bremner @aesthr EE student here, yeah, this is kinda a thing. But IMO also a bit justified if you compare our exams to, say, marketing degrees.

@navi @novenary I actually have some WIP on that. To also power the whole thing with PD is more complicated than I'd imagined, and I need to ask more knowledgeable people. DP alt mode is also not that trivial, I think I know how though. Also, you can only have one Displayport sink; for more you need MST, and ICs for that are unobtainium. @mntmn maybe knows how to power a circuit from PD and provide charging, too?

A digital illustration with hand-drawn text reading "TRANS LIVES ARE MORE IMPORTANT THAN HARRY POTTER". The text is surrounded by three round, cartoon cats and various bubbles colored in light blue, pink, and white.

mhm, I should built something with a CH32V MCU. Ten cents (!) for a full-blown RISC-V microcontroller you can program in C without any fuzz is very cool.

@SpaciousCoder78 @rohini install libredirect for Firefox and check which are still pingable. IIRC one week ago some still were up

@michel_slm I now have a rough outline of how to go about things but will need to look info getting two machines for that purpose

@rohini @SpaciousCoder78 some nitter instances are still up afaik

Here it is, now I *do* have a list!

Rare image of the birth of an electrician (still with the eggshell on his head)

A photograph of a utility worker wearing a hard hat and safety harness, working high up on a metal telecommunications pole. Right in front of the worker, resting on the tower's platform, is a large bird's nest made of thick sticks and branches.

@josch @Ganneff I won't stop, but I will invest the time spent on free software mostly elsewhere. As someone who reviewed a lot of MRs on salsa and sponsored a few packages, you can immediately tell if it's slop, and it is just a waste of my time.

Very sad, when I started contributing Debian struck me as having a sane rationale; guess I was wrong.

@martin @disaster2life ah, yeah, Forky ofc.

@disaster2life Until trixie releases I have another project I want to prioritize; if at least 4 other interested people show up I'd be on board.

Ear worm, wtf lucy get some rest
@lucydev thanks, now I want to watch asdf again

Now I am (semi) seriously considering to start Debian GNU/NetBSD, just out of spite. Would've never guessed it'd come to this.
