Debian Maintainer | A Computer Nerd who also happens to be a Debian Packager.

I'm a hobbyist programmer. Outside of the computer world, I'm a STEM Major who likes inventing things.

I’m also a hobbyist graphic designer who mostly designs posters and media content for Debian India

Outside of geeky and nerdy stuff, I play a lot of video games, mostly single player ones.

Profile Picture is Flora Fountain from South Bombay, India.

I initially thought of ditching pc gaming entirely and move to consoles because of windows but Linux gaming has changed me so much that I want to stay behind and build a tiny self built steam machine!

Just bought one of my favourite games of all time once again

Just installed bazzite (alongside debian) and here’s a short review:

Pretty good if your sole purpose of using Linux is gaming and web browsing only. The setup process was hands free and automated. Doesn’t let you tinker with the internals.

I installed it as I found debian packaging distracting during my finals and it does the job pretty well. My whole pc performs better on bazzite probably because of the newer kernel. Waiting for forky…

@nina_kali_nina I tried FreeBSD 2 weeks ago on my thinkpad. Ended up learning more about computers but had this bug where my kernel would crash when i try to connect to wifi.

I'm kinda skeptical about the future of Linux too with the amount of pro-LLM push they've been giving lately.

@codewizard @srud @praveen dual boot is always an option if you really want to do it.

@codewizard @praveen @srud I learnt more about operating systems and linux the day I stopped using windows. If you're into learning it, using the OS on baremetal would do the trick.

No, it's not really that complicated as the youtubers make it to be. It's easier to use than windows if you know how to use it.

@thelinuxEXP I had a look at your video and its interesting... Looks like they're making heavy modifications to the base system as well as the DE to build its own unique flavour.

I've been hearing that they re-wrote coreutils in rust. Is that ubuntu specific right now?

@vivekanandanks or just know the topic so well that you won't even need a presentation!

Thats how i do it

@youngbin I hope they make a 11 inch one too!!

Framework 12 is too tempting… could be my next x86 pc

looks at his ageing thinkpad that’s slowly dying

I ended up in the wrong side of the internet aka r/unixporn and then this happened. Just 30 mins later.

My minimal desktop as of Apr 21 2026. Not sure how long its gonna stay this way but this is good for now.

@jessie probably a good idea to get a tetanus shot. I was bitten by a cat when i was a kid and i somehow didnt turn into a catman...

@contrapunctus meanwhile I had my haircut 3 weeks ago and I already look like someone who got lost in a forest for a year.

@vivekanandanks do it in my style - mostly images + memes and a pinch of text here and there. Images make the presentation a lot more bearable

No matter what distro I try out. I eventually come back to Debian again. Seems like the saying “Debian is the end of distrohoppers” is indeed true

I thought my SSD died shortly after using that hotel lobby pc to make a bootable usb. My bag which had my thinkpad in it, fell from a 4 ft height inside the train. I booted the thinkpad today only to realise that the "dead" SSD somehow got resurrected.....

@vivekanandanks I tried doing something like that at MiniDebConf Navi Mumbai and it flopped too hard because ocean of text in a presentation isn't my style. It was an information overload. Neither the audience understood what I tried to convey, nor me who tried to cram as much as info i could under 30 mins. My presentation had 50 slides btw
